Surf Spots

Find the perfect surf spots for your surf level

This surf spot selector will help you find the best waves for your surf ability in Ericeira and surroundings. You can find detailed information, videos, webcams and surf forecasts of more than 65 surf spots in the area. Simply filter the spots on the basic requirements such as surf level, direction of the wave, bottom type and location and select the surf spots that are matching your needs.

Make sure you are aware of your own surf level before using this surf spot selector. Don’t go to surf spots that exceed your level of surfing! If you have never surfed before, you should take surf lessons, at least until you are able to control your board in the line-up. This will save you a lot of frustration and get you started the good way. And before paddling out to the line-up, get to know the surf etiquette.

Since surfing is getting extremely popular, line-ups are getting more crowded and dangerous. As tourist, make sure you respect the locals at any time. Don’t go straight to the peak if you just entered the water. Start on the shoulder and work your way up if the locals allow you. Surf spots that have a high rating for localism, should be taken extra care of. Sometimes it’s better to watch from the side-line when the locals are ripping.
