Praia da Parede

3/5

Everything you need to know about this surf spot

Praia da Parede is located between the more famous surf spots Carcavelos and São Pedro do Estoril. It is less exposed and therefore needs a proper swell to start working. Once the conditions are right, Parede can turn into a regular footer dream with long rideable walls breaking to the right.

Although the take-off from the point can be quite steep (like a slab), the wall is mellow and a favourite among local stand-up-paddle boarders and longboarders. Most surfers head for the more consistent peaks of Carcavelos and São Pedro do Estoril, so Parede rarely gets crowded.

Please note that the best time to surf this stretch of coast is October to March. In the summer there are usually no waves!
